While working at Wax&Hive, one of our largest clients was Hunger + Thirst Group (HTG), the parent company to many staple restaurants and bars in the Tampa Bay Area. HTG is known not only for the great food and drinks offered by its unique restaurant concepts, but also the experiences it provides to its guests. While working with Wax&Hive, I was able to work on everything from branding, advertisement, merchandising, social content and more for the following concepts: The Avenue, No Vacancy, and Park&Rec.

THE AVENUE

The Avenue is a staple in Downtown St. Petersburg. Best known for their burgers and local sports bar aesthetic, this local establishment was looking to rebrand for a more versatile and classy feel. I was lucky enough to lead this rebrand for The Avenue and create a new logo mark, as well as its accompanying assets. Creating this new look and feel required us to evolve The Avenue from a classic sports and burger bar to a modern restaurant—without ditching all the existing traits its guests loved. Along with The Avenue’s new logo, I was able to create the new look for its menus, and create a direction and template for its flyers and daily specials moving forward.

Park&Rec is where youth has no age. This concept by HTG is a blast from the past, emerging everyone who steps foot inside back to their childhood, no matter their age. While working with the Wax&HIve team, I was able to help with not only brand asset design work, but also a full conceptual build out for the new Park&Rec Tampa location. While working on creating a new direction for Park&Rec’s flyers and advertisement design, I was also able to help with design and application processes of murals, LED signs, and everything in between.

No Vacancy transports you back in time. While working for Wax&Hive I was tasked with creating multiple assets for No Vacancy that created an experience of a “vintage” Florida feel for its costumers. I was able to create everything from menus and coasters to merchandise and deli paper. The Wax&Hive team also worked hard to create a large amount of physical installs within restaurants space, including murals, neon lights and signage.
